A quiet shore to start talking.

We are a small team of five counsellors and psychologists offering individual, couples and teen counselling in our Kitsilano rooms or online. If you are not sure where to start, let's spend the first fifteen minutes working that out together.

Our approach

Counselling is not a repair job, it is a path we walk together.

A calm, gently rippling sea at first light

People often come to us wanting something to be "fixed". We start by understanding what feels hard, what already helps, and what change would look like for you. The method comes after that conversation.

  1. 01

    We listen first

In the first sessions you tell your story in your own order. Forms and questionnaires only come in when they are useful.

  2. 02

    Methods backed by research

We adapt well-studied approaches such as CBT, EMDR, schema therapy and emotionally focused couples therapy to you.

  3. 03

    At your pace

We decide how long to work together by checking in at regular points. We do not keep anyone longer than they need.

  4. 04

What is said here stays here

Session notes are kept in an encrypted, Canadian-hosted system. Nothing is shared outside the limits set by law.

Who would you feel at ease talking to?

Make four quick choices to see which of our counsellors work with them. Not sure? That is fine: we can find the right match together on your consultation call.

This list is only a starting point.

    Team

Five different voices, one shared care.

Each of us takes part in regular clinical supervision and a weekly case consultation. Open a profile to see training, approaches and areas of focus.

    Services and fees

    Clear fees, no surprises.

Fees are per session and we never sell prepaid packages. You can pay by card or e-Transfer after each session.

    Sliding scale spots

We hold eight reduced-fee sessions each week for students, seniors and anyone between jobs. You choose a fee between C$80 and C$120 during your consultation. No paperwork needed.

What happens in a first session?

From the moment you walk in to your second session.

      1. 1

        A 15-minute hello

By phone or video, we talk briefly about what brings you in and suggest a counsellor and a time. There is no commitment.

      2. 2

        Intake and consent

Before we meet you receive a short intake form and a consent and confidentiality agreement. We can also fill it in together.

      3. 3

        The first 50 minutes

We talk about what feels hard, what has helped before and what you hope for. You never have to share anything you are not ready to share.

      4. 4

        A shared plan

At the end, your counsellor suggests a way of working: which approach, how often and towards what. The decision is yours.

      5. 5

        A fit check

Around the third session we ask openly whether this relationship feels right for you. If not, you can move to another counsellor on the team.

      Free consultation

      Fifteen minutes, no commitment.

Tell us when suits you and someone from our team will call or write within one business day. This call is not a counselling session; we simply look for the right person and time.

We use what you send only to arrange your consultation and never share it with third parties, in line with BC privacy law. Please do not include detailed personal or health information here.

If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.

      How should we reach you?

Good times to reach you (choose any that apply)

      Resources

      Something to read between sessions.

Short, plain pieces by our team. They are no substitute for counselling, but they can help a conversation begin.

A single wave rising as it nears the shore

Panic arrives like a wave, and passes like one

Knowing what happens in the body during a panic attack can make those minutes easier to ride out.

The clasped hands of two people sitting across from each other

Why do we keep having the same argument?

A sunlit forest path between tall trees

Grief does not keep a calendar

      Burnout is not laziness
