Rota Communications

Integrated communications agency | London and Manchester

We run your brand’s communications from a single plan.

Since 2009 we have looked after strategy, creative, media and digital for banks, telecoms operators, consumer brands and public bodies, all with one team. The people who plan a campaign also report on what it achieved.

About us

Every job starts with one question: what will we measure?

Two colleagues looking out over the city from the office window

Kerem Aydıner founded the agency in 2009 with three colleagues and named it Rota, the Turkish word for route. Today 85 people work across our London and Manchester offices, with strategy, creative, media, digital and corporate communications on the same floor.

Most of our clients are large, complex organisations: dozens of products, several layers of sign-off, closely regulated sectors. So we keep our side simple. Every brand has one project director, one communications plan and a report that arrives in the same format each month.

How we work

  1. One plan, one person accountable

Strategy, creative and media teams work from the same brief. You always have a project director who is responsible for the whole job.

  2. Targets first, ideas second

Before any work begins we agree in writing what we will measure. Our reports are built around those targets.

  3. Open budgets

We share media and production costs line by line. Agency fees and commission appear on separate lines.

  4. Long relationships

Our clients stay with us for seven years on average. The longest has been with us since 2010.

Services

Six disciplines, one communications plan.

You can hire us for any one of these, but most clients use at least three together. All of them run to the same timetable and the same report.

Testimonials

In the words of our clients’ marketing teams.

We used to run this work through three separate agencies. With Rota it became one plan. We have fewer meetings, simpler reports, and the board now sees a single table.

Our approach

Five steps from brief to report.

With a new client, the first campaign usually goes live within ten to fourteen weeks. Smaller projects move faster.

  1. 1 to 2 weeks

    Brief and discovery

We write the targets, budget and sign-off process together, and review your data and past campaigns.

  2. 2 to 3 weeks

    Strategy

Audience, message and channel plan in one document. This is where the measures of success are fixed.

  3. 3 to 5 weeks

    Creative development

We present two or three routes for the idea, then pre-test the chosen one with consumers.

  4. Throughout

    Launch and media

Production, media buying and digital set-up run on one timetable, handled by one team.

  5. Every month

    Measure and report

A weekly performance summary, a monthly report and a review meeting when the campaign ends.

Leadership team

The people in the pitch stay on the account.

Every member of our leadership team runs at least one client’s business directly. Between them the partners have more than eighty years of agency experience.
