Our story
Same corner, same care.
Makas is Turkish for scissors. Kerem learned the trade in Istanbul, and in 2016 he opened a four-chair shop on Grand Street and brought the name with him. The idea was simple: be the neighborhood barber, the place where everyone knows your name and nobody rushes you. These days there's a salon corner for color and longer cuts too, but the rule hasn't changed. Every cut starts with a wash and ends when you've looked in the mirror and said yes.
